SOME SoundBlasters have the capability, but not all. Your other option is to install a PCI sound card that does have the System Mixer/What You Hear capability and is Windows 7 compatible. However, from past posts on this forum it's iffy if you get a non-Dell sound driver to work. RealTek if you have the standard integrated (on the motherboard) audio system. You might have to adjust the volume setting as it can be a bit sensitive. Select the Stereo Mix or What-U-Hear option and try it again. In CamStudio go to: Options > Audio Options For Microphone > Volume. ![]() You can look around for a non-Dell sound driver for your sound, e.g. Try switching to Stereo Mix (or What-U-Hear in some soundcards) as your Recording Input Source. If the System Mixer is not one of the disabled devices you do not have this capability. If the System Mixer was one of the disabled devices it will be displayed and you will be able to set it as default. If the System Mixer is not listed, RIGHT click in a blank area in the Recording Panel and then click the option to show disabled devices. In the Sound panel click on the Recording Tab and if the System Mixer is listed set it as the default playback device. To check to see if your system has the System Mixer, click on Start then Control Panel, then Hardware and Sound and finally Sound. You do have the "line in" (for stereo) and Mic (for mono) recording capability. Unfortunately, many Vista and Win 7 sound modules - all PC's not just Dell - do not have this capability. Try recording your gameplay and the audio should also record (the audio volume of the recording will probably be a bit more quiet than the actual recording).For a lot of sound such as you want or "streaming audio" from the internet it requires that the sound system have the "System Mixer" capability (SoundBlaster calls this "what you hear").
